Day 2 - In Maquipucuna Cloud Forest Reserve

As all great adventures start off, day two consisted of waking up bright and early and hitting the trails before any of us had complete sense of what was going on. From 6am until about 8:30 we scoured the trails all, with binoculars at hand searching for birds, snakes, monkeys and the infamous chupacabra. After our morning porridge and juice, we ventured off to a waterfall on a river where selfies were taken and wipeouts were experienced with an elegant poise. The lunch consisted of the daily catch, trout. Though the type of trout is unknown, the flavor was righteous.

Skipping ahead, after a three hour bus ride consisting of integrating American music into our tour guides mind, we reached the center of the earth where we lost 2.2 pounds each and learned about the history of Ecuador. Here, the llama and Hank Fang's eggselent balancing skills were the main events. Before dinner, we hit the streets in attempts of purchasing clothing that would allow us to blend in. Needless to say we did an impeccable job at achieving this feat. At the end of the day we all sat around a big table at our inn and talked about the day's events where nothing negative could be said about the fun filled day.

Day 1 - In Quitos

Today, we took a tour of the colonial section of Quito before heading to the Maquipucuna  Cloud Forest.  One major highlight in Quito was the climb up into the tower of Basilica del Voto Nacional San Fransico.  It was really cool to be able to see the entire city from above. Some other great sites were the Plaza de Armas, and the Presidential Palace. For lunch, we ate a traditional meal at the Bishop's Palace. The pork and ice cream were both great. Afterwards, we went to the Cloud Forest. There, we went on a night walk and found many different types of spiders and other insects.
